Winnipeg, Canada (competition 2017)

The instinctive image of a hut in our minds is similar to the one we give in this interpretation.

The concept is based on the simple idea of bringing fire outside. The fire is the barycenter of the hut which has been moved to distinguish the presence of two spaces. Half of the hut has a predominant enclosure and creates a shelter protecting from wind and snow, the other half is on open air and gives space for fire and interpretation. We like a certain amount of disorder although connected and contained within an area of order.

The scale of Half a Hut has a physical presence on the territory in order to successfully establish

itself as an architectural actor.
